Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
City of Porter
May 6, 2024 6:00 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Donald Verschelde.

Council members present were Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Pat Vlaminck, and Craig Peterson.

Also present was Ken Hennen.

321,000 gallons of water was used.

Yellow Medicine County will be doing some work in town in 2025 if the city has any work, they would be interested in having done.

Discussed with Ken Hennen on mowing the sewer ponds every town weeks. He will spray the park.

A discussion was held on the lead pipe survey of Bollig’s and the information will be posted and sent out to the residents.

Resolution 05.06.2024
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Porter, in the County of Yellow Medicine and the state of Minnesota that the city gives their approval for an offsite Bingo gambling permit on June 23, 2024, for the Porter Fire Relief Department Association located within the city limits at the Porter Community Hall for rent of $0.00.

A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Craig Peterson, to approve Resolution 05.06.2024. All were in favor with none opposed, and the resolution was passed.

The Historical Society will be contacted about the Porter Jail to see if there is any funding available to assist in restoring the jail.

A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded Craig Peterson, to pay the bills as read. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.

A motion was made by Craig Peterson, seconded by Pat Vlaminck, to adjourn the meeting. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
