Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
City of Porter
April 9, 2024 6:00 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Donald Verschelde.

Council members present were Kim Jelen, Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Pat Vlaminck, Craig Peterson, and Judy Verschelde.

Also present was Ryan Westphal.

Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the February 5, 2024 & March 4, 2024, Regular City Council meeting. Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Craig Peterson. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.

The city discussed where we are at on the infrastructure regarding sewer and water. Kim gave an update on a survey Bollig will be doing.

Annual Cybersecurity Training reviewed, and testing completed. Reviewed & completed the Computer Use Policy, Social Media Policy, and the Fire Department & Emergency Medical Services Social Media & Digital Images Policy. A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Craig Peterson to approve the above policies. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Craig Peterson to approve Vicks Firearms LLC operating a business that stores and transfer firearms at 105 Brook Ave N, Porter MN. The city has no restrictions related to this business.

Meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m. for the Board of Appeal and Equalization Meeting. Meeting called back to order at 7:00 p.m.

361,000 gallons of water (estimated) used.

A motion was made by Craig Peterson, seconded Pat Vlaminck, to pay the bills as read. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
