Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
City of Porter
March 4, 2024 6:30 p.m.

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Donald Verschelde.

Council members present were Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Craig Petersen, and Judy Verschelde.

Also present was Ryan Westphal and Kenny Hennen.

Discussed that the lead service line inventory may be more involved than originally thought – they may need to “prove” no lead in homes; complaints have been turned into the city regarding the cars at A to Z Recycling; reviewed the property and vehicle inventory; Judy updated the council on the status of the water meter reader as the system will need to be replaced.

The April City Council meeting will be held on April 9, 2024, at 6:00 pm and the Board of Appeal & Equalization will be held from 6:30-7:00 pm.

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Craig Petersen to allow Porter Town & Country to use the firehall for clerking on April 3, 2024. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Craig Petersen, to not waive the League of Minnesota’s monetary limits on the statutory tort limits. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.

A motion was made by Craig Petersen, seconded by Josh Sumption to pay the bills as read. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Craig Petersen, to adjourn the meeting. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
