Regular City Council Meeting Minutes 

City of Porter 

September 5, 2023 6:30 p.m. 

 

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Donald Verschelde. 

 

Council members present were Kim Jelen, Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Pat Vlaminck, Craig Peterson, and Judy Verschelde.

Also present was Linda Hennen. 

 

Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the August 7, 2023, Regular City Council meeting.  Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Josh Sumption.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried. 

​

The special meeting scheduled for August 28 with Bollig was cancelled by Bollig. A makeup date has not yet been established.

 

Linda Hennen inquired on the water leak on city property north of the downtown parking lot.  The city will look into this. 

The regular City Council meeting on 10/02/2023 will be at 6:00 p.m. 

​

475,000 gallons of water used.

Proposed Resolution 09.05.2023 

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Porter, in the County of Yellow Medicine and the State of Minnesota that the following sums of money are proposed to be levied for the current year collectible in 2024 upon taxable property within the City: 

Proposed Levy:      $81,354.00   

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Pat Vlaminck, to approve Proposed Resolution 09.05.2023.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the resolution was passed.

The city Clean-up Days is set for September 26, 2023. 

A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded Craig Peterson, to pay the bills as read.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.  

 

A motion was made by Craig Peterson, seconded by Josh Sumption, to adjourn the meeting.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
