Regular City Council Meeting Minutes 

City of Porter 

April 7, 2022, 6:30 p.m. 

 

Mayor Don Verschelde called the meeting to order.  

 

Council members present were Kim Jelen, Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Pat Vlaminck, and Craig Petersen.  

 

Also present was Mike Fischer, Bill Briggs, and Lawrence Petersen. 

 

Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the March 7, 2022, Regular City Council meeting.  Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Josh Sumption. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried. 

 

Mike Fischer discussed some drainage issues by his property and what options he has for his property. 

 

Lawrence Petersen reviewed his estimate for the concession stand. 

 

Roads and alley’s will be bladed before the community sale.  The dump ground will be pushed up to be burned 

 

A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Josh Sumption to approve the recommendation from Bollig Inc to approve Nelson Sanitation to televise the city sanitary system.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.  

 

Local Board of Appeal & Equalization Meeting will be held on April 12, 2022 from 6:30-7:00 p.m. 

 

A motion was made by Craig Petersen, seconded by Josh Sumption to award the city mowing bid to Hennen’s Lawn Service.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried. 

 

Bill Briggs discussed their ARP funds and they are allocating $2,500 for the city's use. 

 

370,000 gallons of water were used.  Quarterly water samples were taken. 

 

A motion was made by Craig Petersen, seconded Pat Vlaminck, to pay the bills as read.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.  

 

A motion was made by Craig Petersen, seconded by Josh Sumption, to adjourn the meeting.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
