Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
City of Porter
January 4, 2022 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Don Verschelde called the meeting to order.
Council members present were Kim Jelen, Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Pat Vlaminck, Craig Petersen, and Judy Verschelde.
Also present was Kris Ambuehl with Bollig Engineering Inc.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the December 6, 2021, Regular City Council meeting. Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Josh Sumption. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
February 7, 2022 city council meeting will start at 6:00 pm and Bollig Inc will be attending at 6:30 pm for an infrastructure informational meeting.
Kris presented to the city their start to finish process when working with a city for grant & funding on infrastructure projects.
A motion was made by Donald Verschelde, seconded by Craig Petersen to accept the Task Order Agreement & Task Order No 1 from Bollig Inc. All were in favor none opposed, the motion was carried.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Craig Petersen to designate the State Bank of Taunton, Canby Credit Union, & First Independent Bank as the official depositors, Canby News as the official newspaper, Josh Sumption as the proxy for mayor, Gerald Boulton as the attorney for the City, and Taunton as the official pound. All were in favor with none opposed, the motion was carried.
A motion was made by Kim Jelen, seconded by Craig Petersen for a Voluntary Contribution to the Statewide Volunteer Fire Fighter Retirement Plan of $5,000.00 for 2022. All were in favor with none opposed, the motion was carried.
Fire Contract Meeting will not be held in person this year due to Covid concerns. There are no changes and the townships, and their contracts will be mailed.
461,000 gallons of water were used.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded Josh Sumption, to pay the bills as read. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
A motion was made by Craig Petersen, seconded by Josh Sumption, to adjourn the meeting. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
