Regular City Council Meeting Minutes 

City of Porter 

December 6, 2021, 6:30 p.m. 

 

Meeting called to order by Mayor, Donald Verschelde  

 

Council members present were Kim Jelen, Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Craig Peterson, and Pat Vlaminck.   

 

Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the Regular City Council Meeting on November 1, 2021.  Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Josh Sumption.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried. 

 

367,000 gallons of water used. 

 

The city reviewed their lots for sale and the rebate being offered for building a residential house. 

 

The city continues to inquire into a review of the State Demographic Report from the 2020 Census. 

 

Resolution 12.06.2021 

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Porter, in the County of Yellow Medicine and the state of Minnesota that the following sums of money are levied for the current year collectible in 2022 upon taxable property within the City: 

Proposed Levy:   $73,791.00 

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Craig Petersen, to approve Resolution 12.06.2021.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the resolution was passed.

Resolution 12.06.2021a 

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Porter, in the County of Yellow Medicine and the state of Minnesota that the city gives their approval for an offsite Raffle & Bingo gambling permit for the Porter Fire Relief Department Association located within the city limits at the Porter Community Hall for rent of $0.00. 

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Pat Vlaminck, to approve Resolution 12.06.2021a.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the resolution was passed. 

  

Craig Peterson made a motion to pay the bills as read.  Josh Sumption seconded the motion.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.  

A motion was made by Craig Peterson, seconded by Pat Vlaminck, to adjourn the meeting.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
