Regular City Council Meeting Minutes 

City of Porter 

June 7, 2021 6:30 p.m. 

 

Meeting called to order by Mayor, Donald Verschelde  

 

Council members present were Kim Jelen, Donald Verschelde, Josh Sumption, Craig Petersen, Pat Vlaminck, and Judy Verschelde.   

 

Also present was Nancy Bormann and Ethan Kack 

 

Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the May 3, 2021, Regular City Council meeting and the Board of Equalization meeting.  Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Craig Petersen, seconded by Josh Sumption. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried. 

 

The dump was burned.  The ponds have been discharged and will be sprayed. 

 

A motion was made by Josh Sumption, seconded by Pat Vlaminck to approve the 2020 Financial Report from Nancy Bormann.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried. 

 A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Josh Sumption to approve and accept the FEMA Flood Insurance Study.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried. 

 

Ethan inquired into when he can receive his paperwork for his easement.  The State will not approve the city’s original proposal.  The City is discussing options with their attorney.   

 

Discussed replacing trees in the park and areas in town needing gravel.  Kim’s shut off valve still needs to be replaced.  Concession stand’s shut off valve is leaking. 

 

455,000 gallons used 

 

Josh Sumption made a motion to pay the bills as read.  Pat Vlaminck seconded the motion.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.  

A motion was made by Craig Petersen, seconded by Josh Sumption, to adjourn the meeting.  All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
