Changes to City Water, Sewer and Garbage Service
The City of Porter is converting from a quarterly billing to a
monthly billing for Water, Sewer and Garbage services. Many
citizens have requested for this change over the years to help
make the services easier to budget and pay for. Rates will not
change for any of the services, your overall bill will not
increase. The monthly billings will start in January.
Additionally, water meter readings for the city's newly
installed water meters will begin in April or May as the city
awaits billing system upgrades required to bill out readings for
the new meters. Below are the city's water billing rates for
residential service, once meters are being read, water overage
billings will begin for those using more than the minimum
billing of 4,500 gallons per month.
First 4,500 Gallons: $16.80 per month
Each 1,000 gallon increment over 4,500 gallons: $2.10 per 1,000
Sewer Charges: $15.00 per month
35 Gallon Bin: $13.85 per month
65 Gallon Bin: $16.77 per month
95 Gallon Bin: $19.25 per month
All Garbage rates are subject to a 9.75% state tax.
Water, Sewer and Garbage information is permanently located
under the "City Government" section of this website.
