Regular City Council Meeting Minutes
Monday, November 1, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
Donald Verschelde called the regular city council meeting to order.
Council members present were Eric Dybsetter, Kim Jelen, Darlene Moeller,
Donald Verschelde, Judy Verschelde, and Pat Vlaminck.
Also present was Tom Noyes.
Mayor Donald Verschelde called for the reading of the minutes of the
September 6, 2010 City Council meeting, the October 4, 2010 City Council
meeting, and the September 20, 2010 special City Council meeting on the
lengthening of Oak Street.
Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim
Jelen. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
It was noted that mid-term general elections would be on Tuesday, November 2nd.
Fire department equipment was discussed.
Chief Pat Vlaminck reported that the pump on truck 144 needs major
repair, with estimates in the $2000 - $3000 range.
The fire department would like to add a utility vehicle with a
skid-mounted tank and pump for fighting grass fires.
A grant has been received to help offset the cost of the pump skid.
The council will expect the fire department to pay the balance of
cost out of the fire equipment fund.
Flood damage and possible repairs to the city dike was discussed.
The council will check with Larry Stoks about repair and possible
Tom Noyes asked the council about reimbursement for equipment used during
the flood fighting effort. The
council advised Mr. Noyes to submit a bill to the city, and the city will
submit a bill to FEMA for reimbursement.
Darlene Moeller made a motion to pay the bills as read by Judy Verschelde.
Kim Jelen seconded the motion.
All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
A motion was made by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Darlene Moeller, to adjourn
the meeting. All were in favor
with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
