Minutes were approved as read in a motion by Pat Vlaminck, seconded by Kim
Jelen. All were in favor with none opposed, and the motion was carried.
Roger and Margret Skorczewski asked about purchasing a lot from the city to
the west of their property. The
city council responded that the city is reserving those lots for new home
construction, and is not willing to sell them for other uses.
Roger and Margret Skorczewski complained about possible junk ordinance
violations at the Al Merritt residence and the Greg Kloos residence.
Jacob Tetrick addressed the council on behalf of the Porter Elevator, Inc.
The elevator is requesting financial assistance to extend Oak Street
west of Prairie Avenue. Truck
traffic routing on Oak Street, especially during harvest was discussed.
It was brought to the councilís attention that the current plan is to
route loaded trucks down the existing Oak Street from the scale to the new
dump pit. The council expressed
concern about possible damage to the street.
The council requested a price estimate on the road expansion.
The council will also check on tax revenue to the city from the
Porter Elevator expansion project.
When price estimates are available, a special council meeting will be
scheduled to resolve the issue.
It was discussed that the Cityís tree disposal site needs to be pushed into
a pile again. The council
authorized $500 for Mike Anthony to do this.
A levy increase for 2011 was discussed.
As the levy was not increased in 2010, the consensus was an 8%
increase for 2011.
